Fishing At the Club

May of the Club Members not only hunt and shoot but are avid in the pursute of fish! We have a monthly meeting to meet and discuss various aspects of fishing with special epahisis on the art of fly fishing. As a group we travel to local lakes to test our skills.

Welcome to the Home of Fishing at the Club

How Do I Join?

Any member of the Powell River Rod and Gun Club can participate. 

What does it cost?

No Charge! Of course if you travel to fish you are expect to cover your own expenses but that is optional. You must also supply your own rod reel etc.

Do I need a Fishing Licence to Join?

No, but what is the fun in that? Licences are available at our local sporting goods shops or online at the BC government website.

Do I need equipment?

No, not at first. Just show up. If you need to borrow something to get started we can help.

Does the Club Have Equipment for sale or rent?

No, we do not sell or rent equipment.

How often do you Meet?

Every second Tuesday of the month, 6:30 PM, indoor in the winter and outdoors as weather permits. Check the club calendar for times and schedule changes.

What if I have never gone fishing before?

No problem, we will show you the ropes.

Can I bring my Kids along to learn?

Yes, we have lots of family's fishing and learning together. Younger members are welcome but we would expect their parents to stay and supervise them..

What kind of fishing do you do?

We focus on fly fishing but that does not exclude anyone or any type of fishing, come on out as the odds are you will meet someone with similar interests.
