Membership in The Powell River Rod & Gun Club

As a member we would like you to take pride in your club and rifle range. Obey all safety rules, be considerate of our neighbours
and your fellow members. The Clubhouse, range roof, storage shed, lawns, even the target holders were built and are
maintained by volunteer club members. As a member you are a part owner of a 26 acre facility.



Memberships are available from Marine Traders or Powell River Outdoors.
Please use cash or cheque and PRINT clearly.
 You will get a letter listing the insurance coverage from BCWF and club safety rules.

 Family membership requires that you list family members names who will be using the range on the back when you register. 
Membership costs: Family $100.00, Adult (19 to 65 years) $80.00, Senior (65 or older) $55.00, Junior (under 19 ) $30.00
Memberships expire on the last day of each year no mater when you join.

PLEASE be a responsible owner. You may use the outdoor ranges from 10:00 AM until dark or 8:00 PM. On our Events page you will find descriptions of the various club activities including Trap, handgun, centrefire rifle and rimfire rifle events.

 

The three outdoor ranges are for use as follows:

  •  The lower 200 yard range is open to restricted and non-restricted rifles i.e. single projectile firearms.
  • The upper range (beside clubhouse) is for Hand guns.
  • The trap range (beside clubhouse) has a steel plate for shotgun patterning.

 

Here are a few guidelines we expect you to comply with while using this facility:

  • SIGN IN-use your membership number – This is a Government regulation.
  • ALL FIREARMS - must have the action open at all times when not  in use.
  • ALL FIREARMS - must be pointed in a safe direction at all times. 
  • ALL SHOTS – must be fired towards the target butts not at the supporting posts or in any other direction. 
  • ALL TARGETS – must be of a paper or cardboard type properly affixed to the frames provided - NO GLASS!
  • A RANGE MASTER is required if there are more than one user (self appoint if needed).
  • EYE and EAR PROTECTION - is required and must be worn by shooters as well as spectators.
  • SHOOTING OF GAME – as defined under the B.C. Wildlife Act  is NOT permitted. 
  • CLEAN UP - before you leave; this includes empty brass and targets.
  • USE of DRUGS or ALCOHOL - will not be tolerated at any time.
  • SEE SOMETHING BROKEN – fix it;  we are all volunteers at this club.

Your club executive hold a monthly meeting commencing at 6:30 PM on the first Wednesday of each month. You can have a say and contribute to our clubs future  by attending these meetings. You can reach the executive by using our Contact page.

 

The gate code on your membership card is for your use only:  DO NOT LEND IT OUT 

 

We use email as the primary way to keep you informed of club activities and other things of importance to you as a shooter, If you are not receiving our emails it is easy to subscribe by dropping us a note. Our facilities are occasionally rented to other groups and will be posted via E-mail and closed to members on such occasions.
